Gender equality is the equal degree of men and women in the sense that whatever can be done by anyone, man or woman. Sometimes there is also gender inequality where it has become a national issue that must require awareness from various parties ranging from families, communities to the government. On the other hand, excessive gender equality is feared to threaten the integrity of the family.

In these times, men and women enjoy the same privileges. The perceptions on gender equality are slowly and steadily changing for the better. People are becoming more aware of their freedom and rights in this free society. When a community reaches Gender Equality, everyone from young to old enjoys the same privileges, and receive similar scopes of education, occupation, freedom of speech, safety, health, and political aspects. In a family, if female and male members are treated in the same way, it is the best place to learn, grow, and add great values to themselves.

It’s not surprising that there is a name for discrimination, this discrimination also sometimes occurs in all aspects of social life. The nature and acts of discrimination in society also vary in some areas where women do not get equality in law, social and culture. Women and girls bear the brunt of the inequalities that occur, but basically, inequality is detrimental to everyone. Therefore, gender equality is the main issue of a development goal that has its own value.

Actually the role of parents also has an impact on people who experience problems with gender equality. In a community because it is a small or close scope in an interpersonal relationship. Gender development is also influenced by the character of each human being and also the support from the closest people. That’s the behavior of parents to their children that will have a big impact to experience changes from themselves in the future.

In the other hand, the issue of gender equality should be disseminated to the community so that it is more cared for so that there are no problems between men and women. To do socialization it is not possible that the community will participate in the socialization program because there are certain people who have a stubborn nature and each community has their own rights. In society, there are not a few who like to discriminate, men who are prioritized in fields such as those in power and the state. It’s not that laws or laws that are made should be obeyed that the rights of men and women are equal and equal. but not a few also like to argue or who don’t care about the law because people who are still bound by the influence of their families or people in the surrounding environment don’t care about the rules that apply.

Once the issue of gender equality is resolved, then every family will understand the value of woman and achieve gender equailty in a real sense. Women all over the world are creating opportunities and making example of their abilities to the world. For example: India has won 7 medal. Out of those seven medals 3 of them were won by 3 females athletes. With so much potential it is only a matter of time when women overtake men and have their abilities showcased to the world. (feb)
